- January
Commissioner Sims' Town Hall meeting is at 7 PM January 14th.
January 1st is the date mandated for property assessment each year.
Properties within the County are valued by the Property Appraiser's
Office, on the basis of their status as of this date each year.
January 1st is also the date for establishing the classification of
certain exemptions and agricultural classification applications.
Mandatory assessment for all properties.

Commissioner Sims' Town Hall meeting is at 7 PM February 11th.
Filing of applications for all exemptions for the current year. Applications filed after March 1 may be granted for the following year.

- January to April 1:
Filing of Tangible Personal Property tax returns.
- March:
Commissioner Sims' Town Hall meeting is at 7 PM March 10th.
Filing deadline for all exemptions and classifications. March 13th is Municipal Election Day! March 19th New Candidates are sworn in. March 27th, Tuesday, City Commission meeting, Inaugural Ceremony.

- April:
- April's first Commission Meeting is the 17th.
Commissioner Sims' Town Hall meeting is at 7 PM April 14th. April 24th is the second Commission
Meeting of the month. Thursday, April 26th at 8:30
AM, the City Commission will host its quarterly “Breakfast with the
Principals” for the purpose of keeping communications open between
the City and City schools. At this meeting, Donna King, Chair of the
City’s Education Advisory Board, discusses the various
educational programs the EAB is planning to schedule. Thursday, April 26th, 7:00 p.m., Education Advisory Board’s Internet Safety Meeting, City Hall. April 28th is Cooper City Founder's Day

- May:
- May 1st is the City Commission's first
public workshop hosted by the Commission at 9 AM, City Hall. May 2nd is the deadline for filing a renewal application for the Senior
Citizen Exemption. May 8th is the Workshop at 6:30 and then the Commission Meeting at 7:30 PM. Thursday, May 10th, 8:00 AM, City Hall, Businesses & Professional Organizations Breakfast will be conducted sponsored by the Davie/Cooper City Chamber of Commerce.
Commissioner Sims' Town Hall meeting is at 7 PM May 12th, City Hall.
May 22nd is the Commission Meeting at 7:30 PM.
- June:
This is the date on which Notices of denied exemptions and
agricultural exemptions are mailed.
- June 1st is the deadline to submit the required
documentation for the additional Senior Citizen Exemption. June 11th , Monday, Commissioner Sims' Town Hall Meeting. June
9th is the Commission Meeting. This is the deadline for filing a late appeal petition to the Value
Adjustment Board on denied exemptions and agricultural
classifications (Or: 30 days following the mailing of
denial notices).
- July:
July 1 is the date on which Notices of denied exemptions and
agricultural exemptions are mailed. July 9th is the Town Hall meeting hosted by Commissioner Sims. July
14th is the Commission Meeting.

The Property Appraiser's office submits the assessment rolls to the Florida Department of Revenue for review and
approval.
- July 31 (Or: 30 days following the mailing of the
denial notices):
This is the deadline for filing an appeal petition to the Value Adjustment Board
on denied exemptions and agricultural classifications.
- 2008
- August:
TRIM Notices are mailed to all County property owners. Property owners have 25 days from the mailing date of TRIM notices in which to meet with an appraiser to discuss value, or file a petition with the Value Adjustment Board ( VAB ) contesting the property’s value.
August 11th is Commissioner Sims' Town Hall meeting. August 21 is the Commission Meeting.
- September:
September 4th is the Budget Workshop, the 8th is Commissioner Sims' Town Hall meeting. This is the time period within which the Property Appraiser, on
behalf of all taxing authorities, mails "Notices of Proposed
Taxes" (also called a "TRIM Notice") to all property
owners. This notice also includes market and the assessed value of the
owner's property for the current and prior year with appeal
instructions on how to file an appeal petition before the Value
Adjustment Board. This is also a good time to file "Good Cause
Petitions" for exemptions and agricultural classifications.
Contact the Property Appraiser's staff at any one of the regional
office locations for details, as the deadline for contesting the
proposed assessed value is the same for appeals filed on real estate
and tangible personal property.
- October:
Assessment rolls are certified for collection. October 9 and 23 are Commission Meeting dates. Commissioner Sims' Town Hall meeting is on October
13th.
- November:
Commission Meeting is on Nov. 13th. Nov. 1 is the mailing date when the Revenue Collector mails the tax
bills to property owners of record. Commissioner Sims' Town Hall meeting is on November
10th.
Tax bills are mailed by County Tax Collector.
- 2008
- December:
Commission Meeting on December 8th. Commissioner Sims' Town Hall meeting is on December
10th. This is the deadline for filing a good cause request/petition for
Homestead or other exemption because you missed the March 1 timely
filing deadline for the current tax year.
